Education For a Better Future

An exciting new opportunity through the Colonial Williamsburg Foundation enables students to visit Colonial Williamsburg via televised interactive electronic field trips. Thousands of students have already participated, watching as interpretive performers reenact historical events during live satellite broadcasts. Questions are asked by students directly through a return audio link or later through conversations on the Internet. A voting system utilizing two "800" telephone numbers records and tabulates votes on various issues associated with the program. This newly developed educational arena is accessible to school districts throughout the U.S. via live satellite: the videotaped program is also available for later use to school districts, cable systems, and public television stations.
